ZISU Launches "Global Classroom in Digital Era" Program

ZISU recently launched the jointprogramtitled "Global Classroom: Cross-Cultural Communication and Teaching Strategies in the Digital Era" in order to cultivate the international communication literacy of its faculty. Vice President Chai Gaiying attended the opening ceremony andmadeher remarks.
Chai said that theprogramwas anothercollaborativemilestone between ZISU and Royal Roads University of Canada. With theoretical exploration, technical application, case analysis, and teaching practice, it serves as a starting point for integrating cross-cultural communication into teaching and a catalyst for talent development. She urged participants to learn cutting-edge cross-cultural communication skills, design moreculturally inclusive courses, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration to explore new international education models, and contribute to the development of both universities.
The program consists of a 5-day offline intensive session and 6 online workshops. The session was conducted by Professor Li Zhenyi, Director of the MA program in Intercultural and International Communication at Royal Roads University. Focusing on the forefront of digital transformation, Li outlined cross-cultural communication theories, addressed current educational problems, and explored the impact of global communication technologies on cross-cultural interactions. He highlighted communication trends among BRICS countries, helping participants apply cross-cultural communication principles to teaching scenarios, and create interdisciplinary collaboration models for interactive classrooms. Participants said that the course not only covered cutting-edge theories but also provided a "toolkit" applicable to classroom teaching.
As ZISU’s first international cooperative project focusing on international communication capabilities, the program aims to improve the cross-cultural communication capabilities of the faculty in their cultivation of high-end international applied talents.
